What does this mean?

If you purchased the Manulife COVID-19 Pandemic Travel Plan and are at their destination or have not yet departed on their trip, your coverage will not change.  This plan will continue to cover eligible medical expenses if you test positive for COVID-19 while at your destination.  It also includes Trip Interruption Insurance for hotel and meal expenses, and for a return flight if a medical professional requires you to quarantine or self-isolate due to a positive COVID-19 test result or contact tracing.

If you purchased a Manulife Travel Insurance Plan that includes emergency medical benefits and departed on their trip between October 21, 2021 and December 16, 2021 (inclusive), their existing COVID-19 coverage will be in place for the duration of their trip.

If you purchased a Manulife Travel Insurance Plan that includes emergency medical benefits and is departing on their trip on or after December 17, 2021, you will need to purchase the Manulife COVID-19 Pandemic Travel Plan to be covered for COVID-19 medical expenses and quarantine benefits.  You will be allowed to make any necessary changes, even while in destination, until December 21, 2021.

If you are departing on your trip on or after December 22, 2021, you will need to purchase the Manulife COVID-19 Pandemic Travel Plan prior to departure in order to be covered for COVID-19 medical expenses and quarantine benefits.
